HEAVENLY BREAKFAST GRAIN SURPISE*
Ingredients:
1 cup sweet short-grain brown rice
1/2 cup barley
1/2 cup wheat berries
Water (enough to cover 2-in above grains)
Method:
Cook grains and water overnight in crockpot (at least 8 hours). Finished product should be nice and soft, like oatmeal, but different in texture for those who don't like oatmeal.
Stir-in Ingredients:
1 large can pineapple with the juice (crushed or chunks)
5 dates
1 heaping handful of raisins
sliced bananas
Nut milk
Maple Syrup
Blend first three ingredients until nice and creamy. Stir into cooked grains. Top with three remaining ingredients to your desired taste. Enjoy.
*This recipe was heaven-inspired when I had no idea what to make for breakfast, it's full of fiberous grains and to my surprise, my children loved it. Hope you do too.
